TAILOR MADE COURSES FROM 80 TO 200 EUROS
We are still running residential and non-residential pottery courses at Chapeliers. They will continue when (hopefully by June 2012) we move to our newly renovated watermill, at St Paulet, just 10 minutes' drive south of Foix. We shall have potters accommodation on site. When we sell Chapeliers, the website www.potteryinfrance.com will stay live.
If you are interested in discussing or booking a course, please call Kim or Mike Grayson on 0033 534 090 548 or e-mail us on potteryinfrance@hotmail.com

We fully understand that potting couples are very rare, so we can suggest excursions or activities for your non-potting partners, thus enabling everyone to enjoy themselves. The countryside is very beautiful in Autumn and Spring. In December, January and February, there is plenty of skiing and there are great opportunities for walkers, cyclists and climbers anytime. Throughout the summer months all the tourist attractions are open and there are markets and fairs in many towns and villages. The walled garden is a perfect place to relax in at anytime of the day.

Kim throwing a pot. Don't be scared to have a go! | | Chapeliers is to the left, the pottery studio to the right and a small area of the spacious garden is shown in the foreground. | | Your tutor, Kim Grayson, has studied and made ceramics for 30 years and in 2002 obtained (from Nottingham) City and Guilds Certificates in Ceramics, Design for Ceramics and Adult Education Teaching. She is happy to teach anyone who is willing to learn. She also speaks German and French so groups of mixed nationalities are possible. Whilst being a confident teacher and communicator, her approach is very much 'hands off', giving help rather than instruction and allowing each student to find their own style and form. | | The pottery studio is a few meters across the garden from your accommodation and can be made available for resident students outside of tuition hours. It is equipped with two electric wheels, a kick wheel, a slab roller, an electric kiln and a smaller test kiln. There are plenty of tools, clays and glazes available. If you have already had experience of pottery courses you will appreciate knowing that we have tables of different heights, a double sink with plenty of running water, good lighting, central heating, an indoor toilet and a rest area away from powders and chemicals. |
