All year round markets

There are markets in Foix at least twice a week, selling farmers' produce, flowers, clothes, souvenirs and household goods.  On other days, there will be a market in a town or village a short drive away.

Sport

2010 is the year for Foix playing host to the Junior Kayak Championships.  We are expecting plenty of antipodean visitors!

Theatre and Cinema

We have very good facilities for lovers of culture just a short walk away, providing a variety of films and shows in French and English.

Resistance film festival 9 to 17 July, with debates and Independant Films

Jazz festival 26 July to 1st August With performances by Kenny Baron, David Reinhardt, Curtis Fuller, Charles McPherson, and others. Great atmosphere!

Son et Lumière 3rd to 14th August : Les Explorateurs du Temps. Open air theatre spectacle.

Cycling championships including Le Tour with a stage finishing in Ax les Thermes on July 18th and another starting in Pamiers on July 19th
